Hello everybody:
The multiple contacts are bound to be there. However, we can have a tacit
in-house understanding. Depending on the stature of the College persons and
the time-availability of the LUG guys [why no gals?], we can allow one of
our group to take the lead -- often one dealing with the topmost person.
Sometimes, it is difficult to get the top guy regularly -- so you get an
intro to the 'active contacts' in the college and work thru them.
e.g., in Arunai, to get the goahead you should speak to the Chairman [since
Mr. Velu has become Food Minister, his son has taken over], but for getting
things done you have to talk to the PRO Suresh. In many colleges it is
Chairman or Director, rarely it is the Principal and for getting things
actually done, we have to keep the HoD CSE or IT (which one?).
As for Jaya Engg, Aanjhan can apprise the Chairman, bring Kumaran into the
picture and then Shakthi-Kumaran combine can take over. [this is just a
suggestion -- please do as you guys deem fit]. The Principal is originally
from MIT (Mech Engg) and if anything is needed from him, we can talk to him.
Because of the NRCFOSS training -- and our mandate to push in the elective
-- we are in regular touch with a large no of colleges / teachers. My
earlier stint at Arunai adds more members to this pool -- during my stay
around 20 lecturers resigned and went to different colleges . I have been
coaxing the colleges to conduct LDDs / workshop to create awareness.
I will do the following : do some initial interactions (mostly thru our
au-kbc mails) -- keep Parthan in the picture and once the date/program is
fixed, let him take over. Please keep in mind that many colleges would like
to have some 'VIP(!)' presence to inaugurate the show. I will try to do my
bit in the background -- whether initiated thru NRCFOSS or directly thru
LUG.
