I am impressed by the responsiveness of a system with 2.6 kernel. But I am
not sure if I should try it in production servers. Can I atleast try it on
the fileservers? My workstation with 2.6 kernel is running fine for months.
Has anyone used 2.6 on production servers like file and mail?
i'd suggest, either set up a testbed (2.6 + xfs) or compile a 2.6 kernel
and boot into it at some low load time (say night time) for testing it.
i haven't used it in production yet - and most of the stats are from my
colleagues, i don't do any active sysadmining these days except on my
personal colo box (and that's freebsd).
