A friend of mine is considering getting Acer 5002 notebook. So i would
like to have a few suggestions. Does anyone in this group has this
notebook. And how would it be rated when it comes to linux
compatability??(i did read the thread on acpi problems) If you could
also tell me how acer is wrt to service it would be great. Any
complaints / great features reg the laptop.. pls do let me know.
acers are cheap and light - though a bit shoddily put together
ship with an antique version of linux on a 4 gb partition leaving the
rest unpartitioned
most of the dealers will cheerfully offer to give you a pirated xp cd
along with the laptop
anyway their service center is in a small and very bumpy, pitted road
just behind valluvarkottam (near where all those metrowater tankers
are parked) - if you can survive the drive there they seem quite ok.
