[haiku] Ruby no longer works!

Hi,

I just 'upgraded' my work partition to hrev45851 (patched to fix
wifi), and find that ruby [rather vital to me] now crashes and locks up!
I did a fresh installoptionalpackage, but it has no effect -- in fact the
rev given in the diagnostic is unchanged from the version I had before,
though the file size is different.

Here's what I get:

>ruby
<main>: [BUG] rb_thread_create_timer_thread: return non-zero (-2147483637)
ruby 1.9.1p243 (2009-07-16 revision 24175) [i586-haiku]

-- control frame ----------
c:0001 p:0000 s:0002 b:0002 l:000a14 d:000a14 TOP
---------------------------
<main>: [BUG] Segmentation fault
ruby 1.9.1p243 (2009-07-16 revision 24175) [i586-haiku]

-- control frame ----------
c:0001 p:0000 s:0002 b:0002 l:000a14 d:000a14 TOP
---------------------------

...and then the Terminal locks solid. Ctrl-C has no effect, and I have to
use the ProcessMonitor to kill it.

What do I do? (I had carefully preserved the previous system, and
have now gone back to it, but that means I'm stuck with flakey wifi!)

Thanks,
