Maybe you removed/crippled your ~/config/settings/boot/UserBootscript ?
In there all the files in the "launch" subfolder are opened.

Come to think of it, that seems a bit of a misstep (though it goes way back,
I guess).  I don't see any need for the launch loop to be in the user script;
it's a fixed action, so it should be in the system BootScript.  In the old 
(BeOS)
days, the user script was completely free (and didn't even exist by default).
