Hi, Charles,
I suspected something like that...but the battery is not
completely dead: it goes on, but I guess since the cover is not
closed tightly, any little jostle or bump, and the lights go off,
and I lose the connection.
Where can I find the proper new battery to purchase?
Thanks.

Hi Alice,

One way to make sure if it is not the GPS case would be to remove
the
battery and see if the case shuts completely if it does the
battery is dead
and as Jerry said has swelled a little. Old batteries will do
that look at
a very old 9 volt looks like it is going to explode as it expands
out and
starts leaking.

It seen to me that the battery have gone bad, it may have swell
up a little.
I have heard this happen to another person just a few day ago and
he said he
haven't use his receiver for a long while and left it on charge
with the
switch on and when he attempt to use his GPS receiver it did not
work and he
removed the pouch so he can removed the battery compartment but
the
compartment came off by it self and he touch the battery and the
battery was
swollen enough to force the compartment to come off.

Subject: [gps-talkusers] the i blue receiver

Hi, all,
The other day when I was out using the gps, the i-blue
stopped
receiving. I asked someone, and he said there were no lights on.
I naturally
assumed that it had not been sufficiently charged up. But now, it
shuts
itself off all the time, almost as though there is a loose
connection or
something. I thought I'd remove the battery for 30 seconds or so,
a trick
that seems to work with many of these battery devices, and I
noticed that
the battery compartment cover was sort of bulging, not closing
tightly, and
now, no matter what I do, I can't get the battery compartment
cover to close
snugly when the battery is inserted.
It closes properly when the battery is not inserted. If I had not
noticed
this *before* had removed the battery, I'd woonder if I was
perhaps
inserting it incorrectly, but it was like that even before I
removed the
battery, and anyway, the battery only seems to fit in one way.
Any thoughts? Has the battery "gone bad" or something?
Thanks.
