Don't forget about Carlyle Lake in Caryle, Illinois.
It is also a COE (St Louis District) lake. It is
Illinois' largest
manmade lake, with 26,000 acres of water and 13,000
acres of surrounding public land. It contains many
camping sites and is only 50 miles from St Louis.
