This may not be a software issue but we have seen it 5 or 6 times in the last 2
months on the simulator. We have never noticed this issue on previous systems
running version 4, 6, or 7 software. We were attributing the disconnects to
starting and stopping the Esscor model and associated IC's but one has to
wonder???

On Behalf Of Gunnells, Chris T.:
"I am beginning to wonder if this is an 8.4 software issue?"

I have had the same--or a very, very similar--problem with 6.1.1 and
4.1.1 before that.

I used to associate the problem with power outages (our plant-wide
maintenance shutdown is next month). But, I cannot say whether the
problem was caused by the power outage or whether the problem was
detected by the enhanced awareness of the operators after a power
outage. For me, the problem has been very intermittent. A better
description is "rare". I have only seen the problem 5 or 6 times in 15
years. So, it is difficult to establish a pattern.

Perhaps it happens more frequently in 8.4 software...
