After a bit of messing around, I think I have found same general theme believe you have hit on the problem because my wife, who is sighted, said monitor was sideways and happened that one of the numbers was flipped from what it should be. Could you please tell me where the adjust screen would be found. Thank you so much for the help. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Efren Chavez" <efrenchavez91@xxxxxxxxx>

Hey Dave, Go to the adjust screen resolution and make sure its not on portrait. Set it to Landscape and the correct order of numbers should appear. You mention presentation mode and dont know anything about this. I even have a selection of 768 by1024 but not the other way around for 1024 by 768. ----- Original Message ----- From: D!J!X! If so it probably reads it as percentages, specially if you have an intel built-in graphics such as the 3000, 4000 or4600. If so, set a percentage and press tab, then jaws will read the actual numbers. Then you can shift tab to find the bar and move it up and down. Unless somebody swapped your videocard out for another, there's no doubt that your card can be set to thatresolution. But that Windows is not at all screen-reader friendly. You may need to tab to the field that shows resolutions and then press right or leftarrow. Then, to read the new value, you must tab away from the field and then tab back. Probably fastest to recruit a sighted assistant. From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Dave Hillebrandt Sent: Wednesday, February 04, 2015 5:32 PM To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ddots-l] Re: suddenly getting error about display setting No, I'm afraid not, though could see how it might do that. No, hadn'tbeen connected to anything unusual and a bit baffling. Wondering if it couldbe a virus or something. If you know, could you varify that the display needs to be either 1024, 1152 or 1280 for horizontal and 768 for vertical? Since this is not one ofthe choices, am wondering if there is a way of getting in somewhere in between what is offered if you know what I mean.I see a couple with horizontal settings of 1024 and or 1152 but none ofthem have a vertical setting of 768.... If so, it is likely that goodold Windows changed your display settings for you without even asking. Haven't changed anything in displayfor a couple years so dont know how it could change. Are there possibly other values that I'm not seeing as seems tohave many choices but not one I need. Using Windows XP. Thanks for any ideas. Dave-- Efren Chavez PLEASE READ THIS FOOTER AT LEAST ONCE!
