[ddots-l] midi setup

Hello,
I'm trying to use the Motif ES via midi rather than USB with sonar. This is my
routing as follows, but I suspect I have a step wrong somewhere, because when I
turn local off on the motif, I'm still getting sound from it when playing it.
I'm connecting the motif to a midiman 2x2 interface. From the Motif's out port,
i'm going into the interface's in (a) port, and from the motif's midi in port,
i'm going to the interface's out port (a.)
Any help is appreciated.
