MessageSo the setup should looke like this then? Come out from the motif's midi
through port and into the midi interface. Come out from the scale converter's
midi out port into the motif's midi in port?

In anyevent, you have to have MIDI flowing in both directions. A MIDI THRU
at some point in the chain seems like a reasonable option. That THRU should
probably go from the THRU of the Motif to the IN of the interface. It's been
years since I used a THRU port but that seems reasonable until someone corrects
me.

The other device isn't a synth. it's a converter that allows me to change
scales in the motif for ethnic music.

If you have a multi port interface, you can run both devices into it and
enable MIDI echo on both tracks. Or, you could use a MIDI THRU port on the
motiv into the interface, I guess.

Hmm, that complicates things, because I'm also using an external midi
device to send some midi signals into the motif, so the midi in port of the
motif is being occupied by this other device. Any suggestions?

You will also have to go midi out from your interface to midi in on
the Motif.

              Hi,

I'm connecting the motif es6 via midi to record into sonar. I'm
going midi out from the motif to the midi in of my audio interface. What should
i check and uncheck in the midi devices inputs and outputs in sonar? i'm not
getting any sound right now.

              Thanks.
