Hi Efren ,If I'm not wrong, if you are using the Wave profile, it's because you are not using ASIO drives, instead you are using WDM drives.
I've been there!Download the, free, ASIO 4 All drive, , and you have a part of your problems resolved. All parameters are very accessible.
Buffer size plus kernel parameters need to be all the time on top of it.It's a bit like this, if you are recording you need to put down the buffer size because of latency, drop outs, etc... For mixing or mastering work, the opposite is needed, larger buffer size, plus more quantity of kernels.
Another thing.Be aware that PC's, need to be better config to work with this kind of hard processment.
You need to check on MS config, some aplications that dont really need to be working at the time that you are using Sonar. Or, check Start Up aplications aswell. So much that you can do to improve PC's reaction!!!
All machine, as a limit! Good luck, Best regards, Rui Vilarinho----- Original Message ----- From: "Efren Chavez" <efrenchavez91@xxxxxxxxx>

Hey guys updating you on the status of my latency issues. I went to the options menu on sonar and clicked on audio. I clicked on the wave profiler and then messed with the buffer size. It was at 2 and 49 percent. I managed to get it down to 10 percent which allowed me to play a drum kit like the way i wanted to. any where from 10 to 25 percent, the response is excelent. However now i have another problem. I am getting drop outs after i play the second midi track. I try freezing the track with the drum kit and it would freeze everything and prevent me from further recording. Is there a way to freeze only one track Thanks I think i got my latency issues fixed. I still don't know for sure. Thanks for the assistance. Should I reinstall the drivers or look in it to see if i can find something? To DJX. I have a sony Vaio laptop duel core intell 5 with 4 gigs of ram, and windows seven 64 bit professional. However I installed the 32 bit of sonar version. Also, the project was just a little demo to test the latency. I didn't load demention pro or anything just the default cake walk tts. The computer seamed to be doing good though. I think it's something to do with the interface. I'm about to insert the disk again to see if i can find any thing. I even tried finding something on the search box at start. The latency level and response ok, but when i play a sequence of notes at a rapid pace it willnot play like I did. Also, I am hearing a popping sound in the backgroundand the sound sounds distorted. It sounds ok when I export though. I didsome research and found that the popping sound may be due to small buffersize. Where would I change that. Also do asio drivers come pre-installed on the computer? If so how will I change the settings to optimize the latency issue and sound quality?I installed the tricapture soundcard drivers and didn;t mess with any settings.
