It could be a buffer setting, or depending on your system it could be that it's not able to keep up with the demands of the soft synth and all the other processes. What are the specs for your system? OS, processor, amount of ram, software used etc. HTH, D!J!X! -----Original Message----- From: ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ddots-l-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Efren Chavez Sent: Saturday, October 15, 2011 8:46 PM To: ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ddots-l] having issues with the latency hearing popping sound in the background Hello everyone, I just got my sound card and it is a sonar tricapture USB. The latency level and response ok, but when i play a sequence of notes at a rapid pace it will not play like I did. Also, I am hearing a popping sound in the background and the sound sounds distorted. It sounds ok when I export though. I did some research and found that the popping sound may be due to small buffer size. Where would I change that. Also do asio drivers come pre-installed on the computer? If so how will I change the settings to optimize the latency issue and sound quality?I installed the tricapture soundcard drivers and didn;t mess with any settings.
