I was wondering if perhaps she had not assigned an input to the audio track. I
just tried that and noticed that the metronome came on but when I pressed r for
a second time jaws said "not recording".

I actually have heard jaws say "not recording," when you're on a midi track
and you have an audio track armed.

Could you please elaborate? I've never heard JAWS say the statement "Not
recording".
Does the metronome sound when pressing the (r) for record?
You might try the audio profiles un General if your using WDM drivers.\

Regarding my other question, do you know what may be happening when an
audio track is armed yet Jaws is saying, "Not recording."
