I mean, its a simple enough request, remember, Steve's friend is a novice, so a
modicum of tolerance is probably appreciated!

Could you please elaborate? I've never heard JAWS say the statement "Not
recording".
Does the metronome sound when pressing the (r) for record?
You might try the audio profiles un General if your using WDM drivers.\

Regarding my other question, do you know what may be happening when an
audio track is armed yet Jaws is saying, "Not recording."
