Control surfaces are the way to go. I wish my transport was still working.
It was crashing sonar way too much though. I'm not sure what happened
because in earlier versions of sonar we didn't have this problem.

May the Peace of God which passes all understanding guard your heart and
mind in Christ Jesus. God bless you!

Sean,

I had no idea you could scrub that way. I'll have to try it. I still
prefer using my Tranzport.

Jack,

If you can use a control surface, I think you'll probably get more precise
results. Keep us posted.

Jack,

You don't need to go into the clips pane any longer to scrub.

Before I give you the keystrokes, always, and I said always, do a quick save
of your work, (control plus S), to insure you can return to the point in
which you started scrubbing. My machine will sometimes crash Sonar when
using these keystrokes. However, they work really well, and are a real life
saver when you just need to quickly scrub.

Here goes...

From the track view, just simply press (Alt plus 5) on the numeric keypad
and continue to hold the alt key. Now while still holding the alt key, 1,
3, are small movements. 4, and 6, are medium movements. Then 7, and 9, are
the large movements of the scrub pointer. Once you let go of the Alt key,
you are now ready to set your from, or through points using the F9, and F10.

Voila, that's all! You are scrubbing in the track view.

Sean A.

Hey folks, just wondering?

not necessarily looking for the easy way out, but is being able to
scrub in the clips payne an absolute necessity? can we get by in the
track view?

i do have a controll surface and is this the better option?

i am finding chapters 38 and 39 tough to get though and understand in
the ct manual but will do so if necessary. thinks in advance.
Jack.
