I would just add saxlab to that list. I know Tim Burgess has it and when I was last paying Tim a visit, he let me hear it. Sounded great! Or, for guitars, get RealGuitar for acoostic, or realStrat for electric guitar sounds. This is perhaps the best guitar soft synth I've played... Both made by MusicLab. For drums you have a bunch of options, but the most accessible to be and great sounding is superior drummer 2 or EZDrummer, both by toontrack (makers of drumkit from hell). For horn sounds, SampleModeling makes the trumpet, and Mr. sax. These are supposedly the best in the category. They are library samples that use kontakt, but if you can get a pair of eyes to help you save the 7-10 presets in sonar, assign all the nobs to midi, and the instrument is easy to use... I have always used hard synths for my recordings. It could be me, but the soft synths that comes with Sonar don't empress me. Maybe I just don't know how to tweak them. I'm mainly interrested in guitar, horns and especially drums. Any input on this subject would be appreciated. Cheers! Mark PLEASE READ THIS FOOTER AT LEAST ONCE!
