A Men!
It's crazy, but sad to say, we do most fantastic editing way better then most people out there, as far as music goes. When you hear something on the radio, there are lot's of bit's and peases that someone hasn't fixed, bleeding in headphones, non filterd stuff and even buzzing in recordings! Here's a recording of my friend Izzie G, this is a grough draft, but is called Where did I go wrong, and also another called brewzed, let me know what you think.

O, and all of this was done in Sonar, the track I created, and editing.
Dair I say he used his elimpus to record?

He's 20 I'm 18.
We do all of this on our own.
We use Adobi Audition 1.5 and Sonar for what we do.

LOL I'm the guy on the tags.

Chelsea, any job market connected to music, radio broadcast, audio, studios etc. is likely to be very very compeditive. The technology is cheap and plentiful, the colleges are pumping tons of people out, and the economic situation, with traditional big studios cutting back or closing, radio stations continuing to streamline, etc. is scary.

My advice would be to do a little of everything, if you can. Maybe you'll be editing or mixing audio one day, recording someone another day, teaching an instrument another day if you're a musician and like to teach... Really, you are your own boss, marketer, advertiser, and just about everything else.

Word of mouth is still crucial. Get some happy customers, and they will tell more people.

There are two sides to the democratization of audio and video. On the one hand, anybody can create their own stuff on a laptop or phone or whatever, from anywhere in the world, and instantly make it available. So while there's tons of music online now, there's also a lot of crap! The oil rises to the top of the pool, but so does the scum. :) It's one big race to the bottom.

What I do a lot of is convincing amateurs that they need my help, my ears, and my skills on their projects and more than that, they need to pay me for the help! They need to realize that their stuff needs to sound better than the average out there, so it somehow rises above the deafening roar online. For every genius out there doing their own stuff, there are many many more people who don't have a clue. They need our help!
