You can often get more information (which may not be helpful) from the 
event viewer - Right click on My computer, choose Manage, then click 
Event Viewer. Click on Application log, and see whether there is 
anything from the date and time of the problem.

If so, it might be useful to the author, although it probably won't 
mean anything to you.
