I have subscribed to a couple of newsletters for a couple of years, now. One of
them, Woodcrafts newsletter, is mostly ads, but it has an educational section
with woodworking topics. It's available at
http://shop.woodcraft.com/Woodcraft/assets/html/homepage.asp . I also get a
monthly newsletter from my chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association
(EAA). It's available at http://www.eaa186.org/ , but you have to be a member
to get it.
I enjoy them both, and both come with "unsubscribe" info at the bottom of each
newsletter.
