My question about all of this is, simply and probably in I don't get it mode,
why? Why do we have these books in the first place? What was the intent of
bringing them a board when they are so hard for so many people to access? In
other words, the old tried and true methods are fine, and if it ain't broke
don't fix it.

I am compelled to toss in my 5 cents. I really don't like the fact that sooo
many people are having to do complicated workarounds on these books--that
the books are being made available before the engineering is ready. Yes, I
know they are worldwide accessible, but for whom? At first it seemed it was
just work arounds to get to braille format, but now seems for sound too and
various types of equipment. Has the cart come before the horse this time?
Mind you, the powers that be are off at CSUN, but this all seems to be
getting so complicated to use these books..... And I've seen some of the
same ones come up twice now. Will they come up again when they can be
directly downloaded into BRF format? Or directly downloaded into various
other types of equipment? It's getting old......
