Actually, I'm probably making an ass of myself for asking for more email, but a nightly list of newly added books does sound interesting. Would you please add me to this list?

Incidentally, if I can ever help you in developing your lists, please don't hesitate to ask. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Grandma Cindy" <popularplace@xxxxxxxxx>

Bob,

I think bookshare is going to change that. I've been
in contact with them about various problems expressed
here and that was one of them. Originally, the New
Books Added in the Browse Books had two categories
identified, the NIMAC books and the PQ books. After
unwittingly including all under PQ books in my email
list because I didn't realize they weren't separated,
I mentioned that. Now I know to check, so in my latest
lists I excluded the NIMAC books. I think they are
primarily--perhaps exclusively--textbooks and thus
identifiable from the titles, but I doublecheck. The
other books come, as I understand it, from
HarperCollins, and seem, as I said on my my last list,
to run the gamut from romance and children's books to
suspense and some nonfiction.

I think bookshare is going to separate the NIMAC from
the general PQ books, but how quickly, with CSUN
coming up, I don't know. If you'd like to receive my
nightly English-language books-added list, let me
know.

Ann, I agree with everything that you say, but I
still have a complaint.
*smile, some people are never happy.*

My complaint is that bookshare is mixing up the
nimac books (not readable by
most of the people on this list) and publisher
quality books, readable by
everyone on this list, if they take the time and
effort to do it. In fact,
I've read a number of the publisher quality books,
and choose them whenever
possible because of their lack of errors.

However, I'm fairly sure that the number of nimac
books is going to increase
in the near (very near) future, and I think
bookshare should work out a way
to filter out the nimac books as soon as possible.
This should be a fairly
easy task to do as they already have a method of
distinguishing between
nimac books and publisher quality books. They have
to do that to keep us
from reading them. It's just a matter of priority.

Bob (the original curmudgeon).
