If you cannot hear, then there would be precious little reason to purchase the device. First of all, even assuming it worked with a Braille display, what would be the point? Why not read text files on your computer? It would make little sense to hook this device to a Braille display. I would imagine that were someone to be deaf blind, they should find many more features available to them with a portable notetaker like the Braille Note or the Pac Mate or the Braille Sense. -----Original Message----- From: bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bookport-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of David Poehlman Sent: Monday, September 05, 2005 2:46 PM To: bookport@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bookport] Re: bookport needs a speaker: I cannot use a braille display with a book port. I regularly copy *.brf files to my bookport. I use Braille characters to define a search string. I use Braille characters to make notes. Having offered at least three examples of how Braille is used in the bookport's operation, I don't find any validity in your claim. Cheers, Dave
