If you want the book port to lie flat, buy four sticky-feet from RadioShack,
and paste them onto the four corners of the device.

Yes, you can remove it, if you take the back off, but keep in mind this
will void any warranty and there's a good chance that you could mess
something up.  Perhaps a better alternative would be to use the back of
a Cassette case to slip in place to make up the difference and give you
the leverage you need.

I seem to recall a long time ago someone said the belt clip was screwed
on
from the back.  So, if one removed the back of the Bookport, you could
unscrew the clip.
 
Can anyone confirm this is the case.
