Hello Laura.
While this might somewhat go against privacy laws, I can tell you that we
do have one member of freedom scientific subscribed to this list. Also, I
hardly think this is a place for "A few people to gather and complain."
While I know this list hardly represents the Freedom Scientific note taker
user group as a whole, it's a lot better than nothing. Most of us who have
had problems or questions about these units have now, as they once did, a
forum in which to ask questions and receive aid from more experienced
Freedom Scientific note taker users. Granted, this list is rather small,
but we're here for each other if something dies or some files disappear.
Perhaps your new M40 will prove to be more reliable than your current
model. If not, you could always sell it to Computer Assistive Tech and get
some of your money back. I must also say that I am very glad to see that
there is a market out there containing used Braille 'N Speaks for only
$250. I might have to buy one if I can't afford a brand new note taker at
the end of the year.
