Lissi, you're doing just fine. Rtf files are a file format, and Word is the program many people use to edit rtf files. You're right on track. Text files, with the extension txt, are different from rtf files. If you get a txt file, you should open it with Word and then do alt f for the file menu and then choose save as so you can make it into an rtf file. Does that help you understand a bit better? You're doing a great job, and I'm happy you're volunteering here. (smile)
