amen. Assume the writer, editor, and publisher did not make any significant mistakes. The printer, however, when I see obvious typos in bookclub editions, I have my doubts about. I only correct them when I am absolutely sure it is a bad edition and not just an author who has his/her own style of spelling. In the case of ellipses, go with the original and assume it is as it should be. Listeners are no less intelligent than eye readers and often more careful readers. Like all of us I assume the reader will be as careful in his/her reading as his/her interest in the topic.

In my opinion, it should be exactly as it appears in print. . . . -----Original Message-----From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Grandma CindySent: Friday, June 29, 2007 1:22 AM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: One more question So it should be space, then dot dot dot, then space? I shouldn't delete the fore and aft spaces? Cindy --- Pratik Patel <pratikp1@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:Yes it does. The listening ear is highly adaptable and hears what it wants to. Even though the Elipsis is often pronounced as dot dot dot, a trained brain understands it to be an elipsis. -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Grandma Cindy Sent: Friday, June 29, 2007 12:41 AM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: One more question If we're still talking about the ellipses, it affects the listening reader, too, doesn't it?
