We counted 35 species, which is 10 short of our 2018 count for this weekend.
The weather was truly awful, which kept me and the birds hunkered down.  We
missed Turkey Vultures, Bluebirds, Harriers, Grackles, and other regulars.
I decided to try to photograph all of the sparrows, but only managed four of
them – Flickr links follow.  The Harris’s was very visible today, all day and,
this afternoon, I actually caught it resting among the White-crowned Sparrows,
in the thicket flowering plum tree.  It’s been unusual to see it, other than in
the unnatural looking litter under the feeders.
The only highlight was a Brown Creeper, which spent lots of time in view of the
breakfast nook window, this afternoon.  I posted a short video of a shouting
Carolina Wren, that I took yesterday.  Oh, yes, Flickers…I counted 7, at one
time, yesterday morning and we counted at least 12 Cardinals, under the
feeders, just before dark, today.
