We counted 34 species this weekend.  The bitter cold kept our feeders unusually 
busy this week, but there wasn’t much bird activity here this weekend, except 
around the feeders.  
As soon as the temperature crossed the freezing mark today, I went out and 
dumped the ice and rinsed the baths.  Then, for the rest of the day, the birds 
made up for lost time.  There were times this afternoon when two birds were 
bathing at once!  
I’d been starting to worry about the Bluebirds, with the extended bitter cold, 
but then, this afternoon, we saw five on one of the baths at one time, with a 
sixth one nearby.  
The only real highlight in this list was the Palm Warbler that I reported 
yesterday.
