We did okay this hot and sticky weekend, ending with 49 species.  We saw
some relatively unusual birds, starting on Friday evening, during supper,
when a Yellow-billed Cuckoo flew past the window (we usually only hear them)
and a Warbling Vireo stopped briefly in the birch tree, near the feeders.
Yesterday morning I got a photo of a Green Heron in one of the dead tree
tops, across the road, and had a glimpse of our FOS Yellow-throated Warbler.

Our Indigo Buntings, which had been truly ubiquitous all summer, were
completely missing this weekend, along with Grackles and Meadowlarks.
Also, our swallows were strangely few and far between this week, after being
REALLY plentiful recently.  There are still a few Martins hanging around.
Gnatcatchers are still everywhere!
