Last night when reviewing the USLaunchReport.com video for the Nth time, I was
struck by the fact that the payload appears to survive the destruction of the
booster only to topple over later. Is it possible that for a time it was
resting on the hold down rings and strong back? I noticed at the end the top of
the strong back is bent in the direction I would expect to see if stressed by
something like payload weight.
But it makes me wonder if in fact a stronger anchor and with a strong back
capable of supporting the weight of the payload along with fire suppression and
thermal control if it might have been possible for the payload to ride out the
fire?
Well dime a dozen armchair speculation is fun.

Someone mentioned, that the incident could impossibly be related to the FTS.
So, i got curious what it would look like if the FTS charges fired?
Or if only uper stage FTS charges fired?
Not like the video I suspect, which showed a brief flow of 'something'
afire and a small fireball before the big BOOM. Nor, AFAIK, are FTS
single point like the explosion.
