Mode 102 provides 1024x768 on the emulation, which is quite a productive screenmode (ie. allows a reasonable amount of desktop). Mode 20 is 640x512 which is a rather unhelpful, non-VESA standard mode, which I wouldn't recommend doing work in, unless you have specific software designed for it (in which case, just *configure that mode instead).
