It's not that clear cut, particularly using Argyll adaptive.

The i1d3 will probably be faster and suffer from less drift
in the black calibration.

A good combination is to use the spectro to create a .ccss to
better calibrate the i1d3 to that particular type of display
(and remember, the .ccss will work with all other i1d3's just
as well for that type of display).
