Wendy, I've had thoughts of touring this wonderful country and visiting all of the Amaya sisters and their owners. Then I woke up and it was time to bring my kids to school. Realistically thinking, if I can hold out till retirement, it might be an option (30 yrs.). Unfortunately I was in a hurry to get on the road as I had customer waiting so I didn't get a chance to tell Edna I would be traveling within about 45 minutes of her place on my route to Dallas (Plano). Although I really wouldn't have had too much time to spend there anyway as I spent more time at the customer I visited along the way than I was expecting. I did in fact meet Edna in person and she is a great person. At the show, there was quite a bit of information for all to ponder on with regard to Design Shop and Amayas. I believe Edna also has a Texas tech scheduled to visit her soon as well. I hope between the two of them, they can iron out her troubles. This class was held at the Amaya manufacturing facility and, if I'm correct, was a result of customers in neighboring states asking for such a class. There were folks there from Oaklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana. I counted about 32 the first day and about 45 the second day. A great turnout. I hope everyone benefits from the information that was available. The 2005 Design Shop features are pretty impressive. How far is Arlington, MN from Ohio? I might be in Ohio in about two weeks. Why don't they ever offer classes here in MN during January and February??? (grinnnn!) I want a tech to look at my machine too. I'm experiencing the exact problems Edna is talking about too. I've been babysitting a simple jacket back design that ran fine after some tweeking by Herb and Rod. Then Friday after a few jackets the fickle Amaya starts in with her crazy trimming and threadbreak issues. I'm going to give Meloc a call again and ask for a tech visit. My woman's intuition tells me something is just not right with my machine and I need the visit to set my mind at ease! Have a safe trip and come back with the scoop.
