Andrew, the same thing happened to me with some butter but mine was actually
out of date by four days.  I kept it in the fridge and gave it back to the
driver when he brought my order the following week.  If someone sighted
hadn't noticed the date, I would have opened it and just put it in the
butter dish.  What I do now is write a note in the notes box after the item
which says either longest date possible please, or, please check sell by
date.  Since I've been doing that, I haven't had the problem.
