Hi Chris,No need to back up the library itself, just back up the actual files. Thenif Itunes goes belly-up, just reimport the files to your library. If youhave rea ctivated your Itunes, then your purchases will play just fine. Thelibrary is only a database of shortcuts to the files, not the files themselves. You would have to reimport them to the library, but this is of course, possible. So to get it into iTunes on the desktop would I copy andpast it or import the folder? The only way I can think of is to copy your whole iTunes folder found under your profile's music folder (mine is c:\users\Chris\music\iTunes) and paste the folder onto an external device. Then plug your external device onto your desktop and do it the other way round. I'm sorry for not replying, and I'm also sorry to hear you've had no responses. I believe the guys at T&T won't be back till January 5, so guess that doesn't help either. Anyway, hope this helps andgood luck. -- Chris Hallsworth E-mail: christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: CH9675@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: chrishallsworth7266----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara Wilson" <barkingbabs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: "Access-UK" <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, January 02, 2009 4:46 PM Subject: [access-uk] iTunes help please! I know there is a list for users of iTunes etc, but I have tried on thereand reeceived no replies, so I am trying this list in the hope that thereare members here not on that other list.I am trying to move my iTunes library from a laptop to a desktop. I wantto do this by backing up the library to an external USB drive, however when I try to back up it is asking me to insert a disc with apparently nooption to change the back up location. Is this possible and if so, how doI go about it?
