Hello Angela,
That is a good suggestion. The Speed Limit on downtown Main Street IS 25 mph,
which I sometimes believe is exceeded in places, such as between Stroudwater
Street and Captain Bill Hartley Drive, where the Public Safety Building is.
I personally witnessed a very close call with a Pedestrian earlier this week
where Mr. Bagels and River Edge Deli is located. There is NO Crosswalk there on
Main Street. She walked across from Her car to Rivers Edge Deli, and I stopped
heading East. A car heading West stopped but a small 4wd drive truck nearly
rear ended that stopped car, probably due to speeding and not paying attention.
William Clarke Drive Speed Limit is 35 MPH, which to my mind is TOO FAST !!!,
considering the volume of Large Commercial Vehicles using that road.

Re: Kids Safety Day
BCM is planning a statewide speeding campaign, and I have gotten some good
ideas from a group called Keep Kids Alive Drive 25. Though that is the name of
the organization, they also work on speeding in general, distracted driving,
and tailgating. Is the speed limit in most of downtown Westbrook 25mph? If
so, this might be a good slogan for you on Kids Safety Day.

That's the ONLY ACCEPTION to the new rule! If you are working and can't make
our special meeting, please let me know way ahead of time.
Dennis, I know you won't be here; you're all set.
Thank you all

Our special prep meeting is Saturday 9/7 at 2 PM, at Dunkin' if available. (If
not, we can probably use the Westbrook Warren church.)
I would prefer not to go the the 9/4 walk-through, since it's the middle of my
work morning.

I received this email yesterday: "We will do our walkthrough meeting on
Wednesday 9/4 at 10:30. I’ll send out a reminder as it gets closer. I’ll be
out of the office next week, so if you have any questions please direct them to
Kathleen Grenier kgrenier@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx. We have started promoting the event
and we will have the official flyer soon. Joe"
I spoke to Joe through email and we are slotted to set up in the bank parking
lot as usual.Reminder: If you want to volunteer for this event, you MUST go to
our special meeting in September! *I just woke up; I'll post the date later
today* If you don't go to that meeting, you won't be able to volunteer. Also,
be sure to read the Code of Conduct that Kimberly created after our meeting
Wednesday.
