Well, this "unusual" weather has played havoc with most of our April
Madison Audubon field trip schedule. The Frogs Night Out trip has been
cancelled/rescheduled TWICE, and is now combined with tonight's NRF trip
(which looks dicey, too.) The Cherokee Marsh trip last Friday evening
has been rescheduled for tomorrow evening (Friday April 29 - meet at the
north end of Sherman Ave. at 6:30 p.m. to dark, hoping for displaying
Snipe, Woodcock, etc.)

We may actually get the Sunday May 1 trips in. Dan Doeppers and I will
be leading a walk at Lakeshore Preserve on the UW Campus - meet at the
main Picnic Point lot by the Class of 1918 Marsh at 7:30 a.m. If you'd
like a little more adventure (and an earlier start,) Chris West will be
leading a Wisconsin River Bottoms trip, meeting at the Mazomanie
Wildlife Area off County Y and Laws Dr., about 3 miles north of Hwy 14
at 6:30 a.m. If there's anything good to be found, Chris will find it.
Bring walkie-talkies if you have them, as there will be car
caravaning to other locations. You can contact Chris for more details
at: little_blue_birdie@ msn.com, or see the Madison Audubon website for
details on all of our upcoming trips. (http://madisonaudubon.org/audubon/)

And last, but most certainly not least, our spring Warbler Walks began
this morning. I'm sure Mike McDowell will post highlights of this
morning's walk at Pheasant Branch. All weekday MAS Warbler Walks begin
at 6:00 a.m. and "officially" end at 8:00 a.m., so folks can head off to
work, although if the birding's good, there are usually some stragglers
who can't tear themselves away. There are walks Tuesday through
Thursday each of the next two weeks at various locations - see the
website for details. (Mike could use coleaders on the PBC walks, by the
way, due to the lack of diligence by the field trips coordinator, that
lazy bum.)
