I birded the Lake Farm County Park from 7:10 to 11:10am. It was cool (~45) and completely overcast, but there was no wind. I saw lots of small insects flying near the lake. It turned out to be a good birding day. Highlights: For warblers there were: 32 Yellow-rumped Warbler 1 Black-and-white Warbler 4 Palm Warbler (FOY) 3 Yellow Warbler (FOY) - brilliant yellow males to brighten the day 1 Northern Waterthrush at the north end in that isolated "pond" of water 1 Green Heron (FOY) also at the north end in that same "pond" of water I also really liked to see some of the little guys: 1 Winter Wren (FOY) 1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 2 Brown Creeper 5 Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1 Dark-eyed Junco still remains I enjoyed watching the 20 Buffleheads fly very short distances toward each other, skid on their feet and pump their heads. It looks like they're having great fun. My eBird list is posted below.
