I just visited this site, and besides the pair of Black-necked Stilts I was
surprised to also find a GLOSSY IBIS present!

One can park along Meadow Brook Road, and easily walk east along the gravel
trail to this wetland -- a distance of about 200 yards. The location is in
the SW corner of Winnebago County.

The bird was rather distant, but here is a heavily cropped image of the
ibis:

This bird has dark legs (not pinkish, like a White-faced would show in
breeding plumage), and a pale bluish rim around the dusky facial patch,
which narrows behind the eye.

One of the stilts appears to be sitting on a nest, although it was hard to
know for sure. I may post a couple of shots later, but wanted to get this
message sent.

Subject: [wisb] Alert - Black-necked Stilts - Mascoutin Valley State Trail
(Berlin)

Hi Folks,

Local birder Preston Searles called me today to report a pair of
Black-necked Stilts along the Mascoutin Valley State Trail. This trail can
be accessed from County Road E and the wetland lies between E and
Meadowbrook Road. This is just west of Rush Lake or just Southeast of
Berlin, WI.

Good Luck,
