This doesn't sound like a printable origin problem more like a physical width and application related issue. How do you define the width and the resolution? Maybe you should also research the GPD documentation a bit more to find out what you can and can't do. \Manfred -----Original Message----- From: winprndev-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:winprndev-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Rune Moberg Sent: Friday, November 21, 2008 07:24 To: winprndev@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [WinPrnDev] Re: Install: Operation could not be completed (error 0x00003eb) - Vista SP1 Good question. Why did I start messing around? :) Two apps are unable to print properly. Their margins end up covering up parts of the text. (cannot see the rightmost column) So, I wrote a test which prints a rectangle plus two lines X from corner to corner. This covered the entire page, as it should. GetDeviceCaps(DC, HORZRES) returns the correct value. Then I tried GetDeviceCaps(Printer.Handle, PHYSICALWIDTH) and this returns a value larger than HORZRES (+310 dots or so). This is different from MS' OfficeWriter driver. My driver is based on the DDK's Bitmap sample. I found nothing in the source files, but those values in the .gpd file made me curious. And that is when I started playing around. :( -- Rune On Fri, Nov 21, 2008 at 1:07 PM, Wilner, Manfred <mwilner@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Rune, > I am glad that you are able to install the driver again. > > > > What is it you actually want to accomplish? > > Do you have an A4 / Ltr size printer but want to change the Printable > Origin? > > Can you please explain? > > > > \Manfred --- Questions?
