When you uninstalled the driver did you also clean up the Forms that
belong to your driver? You can do this either in ServerProperties or
direct in Regedit.
Sometimes if you made changes to the forms and try to install the same
form names with different parameters Windows refuses to do so.

(error 0x00003eb) - Vista SP1

Wow, that was fast, :)

The DLL version remains unchanged. Tried upping the version number of
the .inf file and .gpd.

Which files though? I removed the old printer and deleted the driver
files (except from Vista's driverstore).

But my primary concern now is why the old driver refuses to install too?

setupapi.app.log reflects only "success" all the way through.

Bumping up the version number of the .dll did not reflect in the
setupapi.app.log.

Driver signing? I have not signed any files. But I now have problems
under 32-bit XP too.

Is there a recent security update which is causing me grief?
