Yes. And the question is...? 8-) The mirroring I'm speaking about below isn't a real mirror-mirror, but rather a similar setup on both places, different hardware though etc, but in all a similar setup, not exactly mirrored. It still enough though to seek out any "gotchas'" before it goes live in the "real" dept setup. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear on this. -----Original Message----- From: windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Dave stevens Sent: Tuesday, February 28, 2006 11:43 AM To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] Re: Windows 2000 domain disaster recovery Sorin, This is the situation. We do have 4 DC's in our live environment. However I want to duplicate our domain for test purposes. I need to also be able to grab user account information and stuiff like that, as I will be restoring Exchange, and testing other applications. What I am trying to do is use backup to get things up and running. This is also one of the (main) reasons I choose to have two real DCs. -----Original Message----- From: windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Ray at home Sent: Monday, February 27, 2006 10:33 PM To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] Re: Windows 2000 domain disaster recovery Hmm, now that you mention it, I guess I should probably bring it online from time to time to synch it. Because, I have added an account or two since creating the backup DC, I'd say. Great, now I'm afraid of what will happen when I do bring it online.&n bsp; Will they automatically handle synching the accounts and all? I'd reckon so. Myself, I'm sort of mirroring the dept setup with DCs, AD and software deployments (most notably servicepacks and new office versions) before I roll them out IRL at the dept. I found this way I'm saving myself quite a few gray hairs... 8-) -----Original Message----- From: windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Costanzo, Ray Sent: Monday, February 27, 2006 4:18 PM To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] Re: Windows 2000 domain dis aster recovery I have just one DC running, but I have a virtual hard drive file backed up that has a DC installation on it.
