My educated guess on this front is that there was an attack published a
while back that stated if you were to get the timings of the key presses
you could figure out what group of keys the user was pushing. This meant
that attacks against passwords etc became a lot easier.

This is probably the logic behind what they have done. They would have
started with this version and just written everything else down as "Out of
scope" and just let it die of it's own accord.

I am with Jim on the Remote Desktops MMC, I use it pretty extensively.
