Does your client want you to build the ap on a fixed price? If so I strongly
suggest that you refuse!
You might reasonably build a proto-type on fixed price. Its impossible to
guesstimate accurately without some sort of functional spec or use cases, but
if your client wants both a mobile instance for the iPhone and a Web-based
interface that interacts with desktop and Webmail clients it's hard to imagine
building a (primitive) prototype for less than 20K-30K at the low end. And
that would also imply using off shore developers.

I was wondering when a client was going to ask me this and it finally
happened.
I have a non-profit client that has a pretty strong idea for an App
and they asked me how much development/build and launch would cost.
Can anyone give me a range of budgets they've seen and rough turn-
around times? I know it's an obtuse question. The only specific
info that may impact these figure will be that the App must interact
with Contacts and Phone so it will dig a little deep into the Apple
iPhone OS.
