Note however that if the driver is handling a stream that is identified as copy-protected through this DRM property, the driver is obligated to disable any sort of signal path that enables capture of the rendered signal. The text from https://winqual.microsoft.com/member/LAC/DocumentDetails.aspx?id=1024&type=0 reads: "When Content that is marked with Copy Protection flows through Driver... The Driver does not expose or transmit Content to any audio capture interface of the Driver or other software." If the audio is DRM protected, the audio subsystem will simply refuse to play it if there is an unsigned driver in the stack. The protection mechanism doesn't work at a sufficiently fine-grained level to do the kind of blocking you're talking about. -- Tim Roberts, timr@xxxxxxxxx Providenza & Boekelheide, Inc. ****************** WDMAUDIODEV addresses: Post message: mailto:wdmaudiodev@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subscribe: mailto:wdmaudiodev-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=subscribe Unsubscribe: mailto:wdmaudiodev-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe Moderator: mailto:wdmaudiodev-moderators@xxxxxxxxxxxxx URL to WDMAUDIODEV page: http://www.wdmaudiodev.com/ ****************** WDMAUDIODEV addresses: Post message: mailto:wdmaudiodev@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subscribe: mailto:wdmaudiodev-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=subscribe Unsubscribe: mailto:wdmaudiodev-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe Moderator: mailto:wdmaudiodev-moderators@xxxxxxxxxxxxx URL to WDMAUDIODEV page: http://www.wdmaudiodev.com/
