Well loving Windows 10. Loading files from SSD's is a lot faster and it runs
great.

I'm in the same boat regarding upgrading to Windows 10, I don't
particularly want to as my machine is running really well right now, I
still need to keep and use Sonar as I can work much faster in there, but
recogtnise the need to move on so Samplitude is the only alternative
consideration on Windows.
However the upgrade is scaring me, I only just got some hardware
installed which to cut a long story short didn't go as intended, my
mechanical hard drive crashed last year and I replaced the 500Gb disk
with a 1 TB mechanical drive as a temproary measure as it was cheap to
do so, and the plan was to use a 500Gb SSD as another replacement and a
1TB SSD for samples.
My friend who is supposed to be an I.T. professional hit a problem right
away in that he told me I can't easily shrink the 1TB mechanical drive
image (even though the data on it was around 350GB) and put it on the
new 500GB SSD, so after many hours of trying he resolved to do a direct
clone and use my new 1TB SSD which was intended for samples as the new
boot drive.
So right now I have a 500GB SSD that still needs fitting, my plan is to
get another 1TB SSD and clone my existing boot drive, do the Windows 10
upgrade, then shrink and partition the clone drive and get an ISO of Win
10 and revert back to Windows 7 to keep all my Sonar and HSC sets in
tact, install the ISO of Win 10 on the second SSD partition and have a
dual boot ~Win 7/ Win 10 machine.
I'll then free up the SSD for my samples again and still have another
500GB SSD spare.
I will also need to give freedom scientific another £350 just for the
pleasure of using Windows 10!
I'm not sure however I'm going to deal with any of the above as I'm not
particularly techie so if things go wrong I'll be up the creak without a
paddle, I'm partly considering just buying a new Windows 10 machine
maybe a powerful laptop just to avoid the whole palava.
Full marks if you managed to stay with and understand the above....

I'm a little more annoyed by the thought of upgrading to Windows 10
here, if I absolutely must. (sigh)
Most of that is just the fact that I don't have computer literate

HSC is usually the culpret here, but I'm not sure that they are even
HSC function calls. It isn't the Samplitude script code though. I'm
seriously considering bringing out a Jaws only download to go
alongside an integrated version, for folks who don't need HSC. Steve.

By way of clarification, I'm running JFW 15 and I have not done the
hot fix because I seem to get around the unknown function calls by
simply telling JAWS to shut up. I'll deal with it all when the next
version comes out. My thought is, if it's only moderately broke,
don't mess with it once you've got it to work well enough.

few, been at this for three days, things are looking good, last
problem I encountered was that samplitude when I press y to do the
ins file thing took jaws away
there should be an additional step for persons doing this alone,
telling them to send jaws to another soundcard before trying to
press y to open the ins file diologue. I thought that samplitude
kept crashing on me, I had already typed out half the instructions
of what I was doing in an email to send here but then I took a
picture with my phone and sent it to someone and they said that
everything looked normal, and then it hit me and I hooked up
another sound card to the system and routed jaws to it and boom now
I have everything up and running, just reinstalling plugins now.
so excited.

well, I downloaded the trial and I'm putting in my serial for
offline activation on my studio system.
however, I'm not sure where I'm going rong, I click on activate
with serial number.
and it just takes me back to the serial number field.
is it that I didn't put in the numbers correctly? this window isn't
moving and it keeps going back to the edit field after I've typed
in the numbers.
how do I know when I've put in the numbers correctly, they say not
to put in the dashes and I didn't.
can anyone verify for me if its supposed to be 30 digits or what's
going on here?
