We can't fix this in the scripts but if you don't dismiss the set-up wizard
that appears the first time you launch X3 then you can fix this before
actually loading up Samplitude. Or use a different screen reader that
doesn't have a sound card setting such as NVDA to get into system/options
and do the audio set-up thang.

Okay folks, problem solved, with a little help from my friend
But I'll try To describe what went wrong and may be, that could give
Steve some ideas to avoid this problem in later builds of the scripts.
1, I was using Jaws 14 on a French windows 7 64 bits machine.
In Jaws /soundcard settings,default was checked.
2, when I opened pro X3 suite for the first time, apparently what
happened was that Samplitude wanted to take over the Windows default
sound card, i.e., my screen speaker, because the audio Setup option was
not set to ASIO. so that probably generated a conflict which my computer
could not handle.
Once my sighted friend opened the audio devices and set it to my ASIO
soundcard, with Jaws off of course, everything was fine.

the file you sent me is just a configuration file, I don't know what to
do with it.
Following Phil's advice, I uninstalled ProX3, and reinstalled from the
installer I got. This installer was downloaded from the accessibility
trainings zip file. Unfortunately, no language choice either. All the
installation prompts are in French, and I haven't finalised the
installation yet as I imagine I will have the same issue afterwards.

if not, then maybe only one file is missing to be able to switch to en
version in the language menu.
he has to unzip the the fil ein the attachment, and then copy it to
the "Language" directory in the program directory of the installation.

In my Samplitude downloads/install manager, My Samplitude pro X3 suite
installer is called, SamProX3_Suite_fr-FR_160907_17-18_14_0_0_16
so for a reason, it decided to load a French version, may be based
on my
Windows language, I don't know
