Hi Vincent,

To show additional icons in your system tray do the following:

1. Tab to the "start button" and press Alt + enter keys.

2. Tab key over to "notification area, customize" and press the spacebar.

3. Now tab over to the checkbox that says, " Always show all icons and
notifications on the taskbar" and check this with the spacebar.

4. Tab to the ok button and press spacebar.

5. Once again tab to the ok button and hit the spacebar to finish.

6. Now you can reboot your computer and you should find a "superAntiSpyware
icon in your system tray which looks like a little insect. Tab once to the
right click button and enter.

7. Arrow down to exit and press enter to close. Now return to your
instructions and complete them.

Paul.

Hello paul

Thanks for your time in looking but I looked at this all ready and wrote to
the lads at super anti spyware and they sent me the same thing. There is no
bug in my system tray. When I go in to the superantispyware options it has
the check box checked to show the icon in the system. Unless there is
something in windows 7 stopping the icon from showing. I said this to the
lads at super anti spy ware and got no reply. Many thanks.

Regards
vincent

Hi Vincent,

I took the following from the Super Anti Spyware help pages.

Q. When I try to install a SUPERAntiSpyware program update, I receive the
error message "The update must be done from an account with administrator
privileges."

A. This is caused by a Windows Vista permission anomaly. This procedure
works in most cases to reset the permissions.

On some Windows Vista systems, particularly with 64-bit Windows Vista, it's
necessary to temporarily run SUPERAntiSpyware as administrator each time a
program update is available.
Right-click the SUPERAntiSpyware icon (the yellow/brown bug) in the system
tray (near the Windows system clock) and select "Exit."
Right-click on the SUPERAntiSpyware icon on your desktop, and select "Run as
administrator."
Close the SUPERAntiSpyware main menu when it opens.
Right-click the SUPERAntiSpyware icon in the system tray again, and select
"Check for Updates."
After the updates are installed, restart Windows.
Very rarely, it's necessary to reinstall SUPERAntiSpyware to reset the
permissions when the steps above don't resolve this issue.

Exit SUPERAntiSpyware, and uninstall using the Uninstaller Assistant:
http://www.superantispyware.com/downloads/SASUNINST.EXE

Then restart Windows. Re-install the current version of SUPERAntiSpyware
from our web site and register/activate and you should no longer have the
problem.

You can re-download the software from:
http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html

Paul.

done. but when i power on again its still the same and ask for an up date. i

press yes and it says that the up date must be done from an account with
administrator privileges. this happens every time i power on. many thanks.
