Aye Eleanor, caution is definitiely best practice in these cases, as though
chargers might fit a device, different voltage could be the death of them.

There is another company besides Blazie, HumanWare, who may be an
alternative try, but I reckon Mr Godfrey's services are top notch when it
comes to repairs. And I'd deal with him direct, but maybe NCBI'S good
offices can do that just as efficiently.

I hope, Jenny you will not be too long more without accessing the wonders of
communication through your favourite medium. Viva Braille!

Do take care when trying something out unless you are absolutely certain.
I plugged in a charger once to my Braille 'N Speak and the Unit blew and
it cost me two hundred pounds sterling for repair. Blazie met one hundred
pounds of that as they did acknowledge that there should have been some
sort of warning on the Braille 'N Speak and as I recall they certainly
said they would state in the instruction manual, now come to think of it,
if there is an instruction manual on-line for Braille Lite that info may
well be there. However, Jenny did say Stuart Lawler was dealing with it.

Jenny,

Could you get someone to read of the power information from the label on
the
back of the Braille lite. I bought a new power supply for my Braille n
Speak
a few days before it gave up the ghost! However, I don't know if the
Braille
Lite draws the same power.

If you could let me know all of the figures together with the letters
that
are beside them I can work it out. would that be possible?

I live in Bray and we could arrange to meet if you want to try it out
some
day.

All the best,

Cearbhall
